We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:30am and take you to a very special national park. Tarangire is famous for its diverse landscape with nine different vegetation zone. It is also known for its abundance of Ancient Baobab trees (the largest trees on the continent) that fill the landscape and dwarf the animals next to them. The river in the park is full of wildlife ranging from a large variety of birds to lions, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants. In fact, the park has the largest concentration of elephants in the whole country and offers the unique opportunity to observe interactions between elephant families. After having a packed lunch in the afternoon, we will go on another game drive before making your way to the Lodge.
Go on a beautiful, short journey across the Great Rift Valley in Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. Although Manayara is the small in dimension (205 sq. miles), the park has breathtaking scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs, mahogany trees, and its growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Permanent residents animal of this park also include giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a huge number of buffaloes and hippos. It is hard to describe the landscape of Lake Manyara in words. Later You will be transfer to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After an early breakfast, you will make your way towards the most famous national park in the world: the Serengeti. Seeing the Serengeti for the first time is unforgettable. As you progress into the Serengeti Plain, you will see why the name means, in local language, “endless plains”. The park is made up of 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and, for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon and defy your senses and perception of distance. It is the home of the Great Migration, 1.5 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for big cats and other large predators, it’s the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs and leopards.
You will have two full days in Serengeti National Park. We are completely flexible with your preferences and each day will be organized according to your wishes. Your guide will discuss with you the best times for your game drives and waking up. For example, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation, and then finish with an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you could do a full day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Today we suggest a very early wake up in order to go out on a game drive when the animals are most active and to see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. After the game drive, we will return to the Tented lodge for a rewarding brunch before making our way to Ngorongoro, the eighth natural wonder of the world. Today you will overnight at the Crater Rim with the nice view to see down the Crater.
We will start the day very early and descend onto the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo lake. After lunch, we will go on one more short game drive and then ascend the crater. Upon exiting the Ngorongoro Conservation Area we will make our way towards Lake Eyasi or Karatu Overnight at the Lodge.
Today will be very special and different. You will wake up very early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he finds the Hadzabe tribe, one of the last true nomadic tribes in Africa. After some explanations about the tribe, you will join them in going about their daily morning activities. This experience is off the beaten track and does not feel touristic by any means. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. The experiences you can have with the tribe include either joining the men on their daily hunt or joining the women on their daily fruit gathering session. Either way, you will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. This will definitely be a highlight of your safari!
After finishing your activities with the tribe, we will visit beautiful Lake Eyasi, a shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Later you will be driven to Arusha Airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
Rest and enjoy this paradise made up of beautiful white sand beaches and the turquoise water of the Indian Ocean. You can also arrange to go on a full or half-day tour of Stone Town, with possible stops including Old Town, the spice market, and Prison Island (lunch not included). You can also opt to go on a tour of Jozani Forest (lunch not included).
Today is the end of our Zanzibar Beach Holidays and Safari package. Spend the last hours of your journey relaxing. Later you will transfer to Zanzibar airport for your international flight home.
