Wildebeest Migration Safari - Calving Season - 4 Days (December To March)
Witness the beginning of life for more than 8000 calves born on the same day as they take the first steps of one of nature’s most fascinating journeys as you experience the calving season. Calving season includes the movement that sees millions of animals make the tough journey from the southern Serengeti to the Maasai Mara. During your four-day wildebeest migration – calving season safari you’ll get a chance to visit the Lake Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport; meet our knowledgeable driver guide, after greetings and double-check your bags will transfer you to Moshi/Arusha town (50 minutes’ drive). The briefing will be provided by your Kilimanjaro professional and experienced guide. Your Kilimanjaro guide will also check your climbing equipment. Anything missing can be rented for you.
You’ll depart from your hotel/lodge in Arusha after breakfast then drive to Lake Manyara National Park. It’s a two hours drive, but along the way, you’ll pass through the market town of Mto wa Mbu. The market is well known for agricultural activities and the fresh produce market.
After a brief stop at the Mto wa Mbu village market, you’ll enter Lake Manyara, National Park. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions as well as truly a photographer’s playground and offers some of the best game viewings. Expect to see many of Africa’s wild animals. The bird watchers will be amazed by spotting great pink flamingos, circling birds of prey, etc.
After your full-day game drive, you’ll be driven to your chosen accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Today you’ll take an early breakfast, as we’ve got a long day of exploration and adventure!
You’ll be driven towards the Ndutu Region of the Serengeti/Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
On your way, you’ll pass through the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you might be lucky enough to spot some animals such as cape buffalo, baboons, or even elephants and leopards.
Along the way, you will have an option to choose a break up the journey with one or both of the below optional activities: Olduvai Gorge Museum or Maasai boma visit! Both of the activities attract an additional cost. Contact your safari expert to see the possibility of customizing your itinerary.
You’ll have your delicious lunch at the picnic area, then it’s time to explore the Ndutu Region. Sightsee Tanzania’s iconic savannah landscape and be amazed by enough number of animals that grazing around the magnificent plains as well as watch the herds of wildebeest moving around the area.
After your full-day game drive, you’ll be driven to your accommodation in the heart of the Ndutu region to have dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
You’ll opt to wake early morning today so that you can enjoy a sunrise game viewing across the region. If your lucky enough you may spot predators on action/hunting.
After your morning game drive, you’ll be driven back to your lodge for breakfast before taking a bush lunch and heading to explore more of the Ndutu region.
You’ll enjoy a long day game drive within Ndutu, as you’ll have a chance to see the surrounding land where tens of thousands of young wildebeest take their first steps.
After your full-day game viewing in Ndutu, you’ll be driven back to your lodge for the dinner, relaxation, and overnight.
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Ngorongoro Crater, also known as Garden of Eden and considered by some to be the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Ngorongoro Crater is the home to over 120 species of mammal including the famous Big Five, such as black rhino, lion, African cape buffalo, elephant and leopard.
From the comfort of our open-roof safari vehicle, you’ll be able to sightsee and photograph some unforgettable moments in wild. The crater is home to a large number of other several animals such as cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cape buffalo, and more. It is truly one of Africa’s best safari destinations.
After your head is full of amazing memories, later afternoon you will be driven back to Arusha overnight or catch your flight for departure.
