Wildebeest Migration Calving Season - 4 Days

Safari Overview.

The Serengeti wildebeest Migration calving season is a remarkable event that takes place in the Serengeti ecosystem in East Africa, primarily in Tanzania. It is an integral part of the Great Wildebeest Migration, which involves the movement of over a million wildebeest, as well as other herbivores such as zebras and gazelles, in search of fresh grazing lands. The Serengeti wildebeest Migration calving season typically occurs between January and February in southern part between Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area (Ndutu Area), although the exact timing can vary slightly from year to year. During this period, the pregnant wildebeest gather in vast numbers on the fertile plains of the Serengeti, ready to give birth to their young.

During the wildebeest Migration calving season, over 8000 calves are born in one day. This is the beginning of their incredible journey, and you can experience it first-hand. Millions of animals make the difficult trip from southern Serengeti to Maasai Mara during this time.
