
6 Days Wildebeest Migration Safari - Western Corridor
The Grumeti River passes through the Western Corridor whereby is the first major barrier for the wildebeest groups as it moves into the northern part of the Serengeti National Park. This itinerary will give you an opportunity to observe the wildebeest and zebras crossing the Grumeti River while crocodiles are ready to snatch their meals.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport; meet our knowledgeable driver guide, after greetings and double-check your bags will transfer you to Moshi/Arusha town (50 minutes’ drive). The briefing will be provided by your Kilimanjaro professional and experienced guide. Your Kilimanjaro guide will also check your climbing equipment. Anything missing can be rented for you.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your lodge in Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, which is known for its huge baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Its sparse vegetation makes it a beautiful and special location, where up to 300 elephants can be found, looking for underground streams in the dry riverbeds. Migratory wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo can also be seen crowding the shrinking lagoons. Here you will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a picnic lunch. After the game drive, you will be transferred to the lodge overnight.
You’ll depart from your accommodation early morning after breakfast and head towards the Serengeti National Park. It will take 4 hours’ drive to reach the Serengeti entrance gates. On your way, you pass through the Ngorongoro highlands with the visibility of spotting animals such as African cape buffalo, troops of baboons even elephants.
You will have an option to choose a break up the journey with one or both of the below optional activities: Olduvai Gorge Museum or Maasai boma visit! Both of the activities attract an additional cost. Contact your safari expert to see the possibility of customizing your itinerary.
You’ll have your bush lunch within the park, then after lunch, you’ll proceed to explore more of Serengeti National Park. After your full-day game viewing, you’ll be driven to your lodge/tented camp for dinner and overnight.
After having breakfast, you’ll be driven into the park’s Western Corridor area.
The Mara River crossing may be the famous highlight of the Wildebeest Migration, but the Grumeti River crossing is also one of the best sightings in the Western Serengeti. The herd moves on the shores of Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria the promise of rain and better grazing.
After seeing these dramatic scenes of big cats and a large population of Nile crocodiles trying to strike the herd while crossing the river. You’ll be driven back to your lodge/tented camp for dinner, relaxation, and overnight!
Experience an early morning game drive within the region as it will be your last chance to sightings the wildebeests. After having a bush delicious lunch, you will depart from the region for the Ngorongoro Crater.
Along the way you have an opportunity to spot several animals as you be passing by the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation area. Later afternoon you will retire at your lodge/tented camp within the crater rim or in the Karatu area.
Today you will opt to wake up early morning as you will be transferred to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
After having breakfast, you will be driven towards the Ngorongoro Crater, the park has been one of the best Tanzania destinations as it offers a large number of wildlife sightings, as well as a large number of black rhinos, compare to the other parks. During your game drive, you may be lucky to spot the big five wild animals at once such as lion, leopard, elephant, African cape buffalo, and black rhino. You will have your lunch inside the crater while enjoying the magnificent view of the Ngorongoro landscape and the surrounding nature. Visiting the hippo pool and enjoying bird watching
