Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to Arusha. Alternatively, you can choose to relax in your lodge, which features a luxurious swimming pool, or take a short tour to explore Arusha city.

After breakfast, you will meet your guide and be transported to Tarangire National Park, where your safari adventure begins. You will stay in Tarangire for the next two nights, nestled among Acacia and Kigelia trees near the Tarangire River. The camp consists of six spacious and stylish safari tents, perfectly spaced out in the bushveld. It is situated in a fantastic area of the park, offering views of the wildlife moving rhythmically across the park from the hills in the west to the swamps in the east, along the river.

Start your day early and enjoy a full day exploring Tarangire. You can venture through the swamps or traverse the woodlands in a custom-designed vehicle. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its abundant wildlife, rivalling the Serengeti ecosystem. Despite being lesser-known, this park covers approximately 1,100 square miles and offers a quieter and more authentic safari experience.

After breakfast, embark on a game drive as you leave Tarangire and head towards Lake Manyara National Park en route to the Ngorongoro Crater. Lake Manyara is home to herds of elephants, bathing hippos, and even tree-climbing lions. During the wet season, you can witness various bird species, including flamingos, which migrate to the area. The park’s diverse wildlife and vegetation, ranging from marshes to savannahs, are truly remarkable. In the afternoon, exit the park and enter the Ngorongoro Crater Area Authority (NCAA). Ascend the steep sides of the crater to reach your lodge on the remote western rim.

The Ngorongoro Crater was formed over two million years ago when a large volcano collapsed. Today, it holds UNESCO World Heritage status due to its exceptional wildlife concentration and biodiversity, including endangered species. The views from the crater rim are breath-taking, and descending to the crater floor provides opportunities to observe grazing gazelle, zebras, and hippos in Lake Magadi. Predators such as spotted hyenas, lions, and jackals can also be spotted. A descent into the crater is a humbling experience and a favourite among seasoned safari enthusiasts.

If your main focus is to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti, we will recommend suitable accommodations and areas depending on the time of year. During the peak season from July to October, the northern Serengeti is an excellent choice. Today, you will bid farewell to your private guide at Lake Manyara Airstrip and board a flight north. The flight itself offers a wonderful experience, and you can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest as you cross the Serengeti. Upon arrival at Kogatende Airstrip, a new guide will meet you for the next three nights. As you arrive at the edge of the crater, you will catch a glimpse of what awaits you the following day. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

You will have two full days to enjoy shared safari activities in the Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous national park, known for its abundant wildlife and vast landscapes. The Serengeti is where you can witness the Great Migration, an awe-inspiring spectacle considered the largest terrestrial mammal migration in the world. It is recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and one of the 10 Natural Travel Wonders of the World. Millions of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and other herbivores complete an annual circuit from the Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back. This ancient cycle is often referred to as “The Greatest Show on Earth.” With its predators on the prowl and massive herds of wildebeest and zebras, a visit to the Serengeti is a must for any Tanzania safari.

After one final safari experience in the Serengeti, you will be transferred to the airstrip in time for your flight back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport. Depending on your preferences and available flight times, you may choose to spend an additional night in the city or arrive in time for an evening flight.
