9 DAYS GORILLA AND TANZANIA SAFARI

You’ll arrive in Entebbe today from your international flights and after you’ve cleared customs and immigration, you are met by your driver at international arrivals. They will be holding a welcome sign with your names on it.

You are then driven to your luxury hotel in Entebbe where you’ll stay.

9 Days Gorilla and Tanzania Safari adventure begins. This morning you are driven back to the airport after breakfast to catch the first flight on Aerolink down to Kihihi. Enjoy this incredible flight taking you low over Uganda and offering stunning views of the amazing landscapes beneath you. You will arrive in Kihihi before midday and you will be met by your driver who will drive you though to Buhoma Lodge, which is a journey of around 2 hours.

Your stay is at Buhoma Lodge for the next 2 nights is on a full board basis. This afternoon is free to spend at leisure, relax or perhaps take part in optional activities (at additional cost) including forest walks, birdwatching and village walks.

Today is the big day itself. Prepare yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the endangered mountain gorilla. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees—the only forest in Africa which can make this claim. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds.

The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.

The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.

Return to the lodge this afternoon where you can relax in the beautiful scenery.

Today after breakfast, you will be driven the approximate 2 hours back to Kihihi Airstrip to catch your return flight to Entebbe. You’ll fly to Entebbe for your onwards flight arrangements and connect to Tanzania and head out on safari in the incomparable Serengeti national park for the next leg of your African adventure.

In the morning after breakfast, you’ll get in a 4×4 Land Cruiser safari vehicle ready for a safari to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park has the highest population density of elephants in Tanzania. Tarangire comprises of herds of up to 300 elephants that scratch the dry river bed for underground streams. There are also the migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests and elands

In the morning your driver/guide will transfer you to Ngorongoro Conservation area. After registration descend to the crater for an enchanting game viewing. Known as ‘the eighth wonder of the world, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife arenas. Deep within the Crater, enclosed by towering walls, some 25,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes and forests of the land. After the crater you will continue with the game drive while heading to Serengeti.
