We will pick you up from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer you to Arusha town for a pre-climbing briefing at the lodge. Our tour consultant will provide you with guidelines and preparations for the upcoming trek, from the first day to the last.

Your 12 Days Kilimanjaro climbing and Safari begins. Depart from Arusha to Marangu Gate, where we complete the necessary formalities before starting our trek. The trail begins with a beautiful ascent through a tropical rainforest, where you may have the chance to see blue monkeys. As we reach the upper edge of the forest, the trail opens up to reveal stunning hillsides until we reach Mandara Hut.

Elevation: 6,046ft to 8,858ft

Distance: 8km

Hiking time: 4-5 hours

Habitat: Rainforest

Continuing through the forest, we enter the high moorland area. Here, we may catch our first views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks, two of Kilimanjaro’s volcanic peaks that make up the summit. We trek from an elevation of 8,858ft to 12,205ft, covering a distance of 12km in approximately 6-8 hours. The habitat transitions to heath.

Today is an optional acclimatization day, but we highly recommend it to increase your chances of reaching Uhuru Peak. By staying at Horombo Hut, you’ll have more time to explore the surroundings. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Horombo Hut.

We continue our ascent, crossing the lunar desert known as the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo. Our camp, Kibo Hut, is located at the base of the Kibo Crater wall. Once we arrive, we rest and have an early dinner to prepare for the summit day. We ascend from 12,205ft to 15,430ft, covering a distance of 10km in approximately 6-8 hours. The habitat changes to alpine desert.

In the early morning, around midnight, we begin the most challenging part of the trek: the push to the summit. This mentally and physically demanding portion involves ascending in darkness for several hours, taking short breaks along the way. At Gilman’s Point (18,600ft), we are rewarded with a magnificent sunrise over Mawenzi Peak. Finally, we reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent. After savoring the moment, we descend to Horombo Hut. In the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and rest.

On the last day of our trek, we have a long descent through the tropical rainforest. Once we reach Marangu Gate, we collect our summit certificates. A vehicle will be waiting to drive us back to the hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay.

At 8:30 am, we pick you up from your hotel in Arusha. Our professional driver-guide will accompany you on a trip to Lake Manyara National Park, approximately 135km away. Enjoy a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch. Lake Manyara is known for its giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees, and grassy floodplains. The diverse landscapes offer breathtaking contrasts, including open plains, a vast escarpment, a soda lake, dense woodlands, and distant volcanic peaks. You may spot animals such as elephants, hippos, impalas, giraffes, warthogs, wildebeests, blue monkeys, and buffalos. This park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Migombani campsite.

After an early breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive en-route to Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The expansive Serengeti plains are home to a wide variety of animals and bird species. Enjoy game viewing and have a picnic lunch along the way to the Pimbi campsite, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

After an early breakfast, pack your belongings, take your picnic lunch boxes, and continue with a game drive in Serengeti National Park. Later, drive to Ngorongoro and reach the Simba campsite at the rim of the crater. You will be surrounded by the vast Serengeti plains, a world natural wonder and a true African icon. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the Simba campsite.

At 6:00 am, after breakfast, take your picnic lunch box and descend over 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a game viewing experience. The Ngorongoro National Park is home to a wide variety of animals, including wildebeests, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. In the late evening, we drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s departure.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. Depending on your flight time, there may be an opportunity for a short town tour before your departure, leaving you with unforgettable memories of our adventure.
